“Bengals' Joe Burrow gives sad take on rough passer penalties”.

The Cincinnati Bengals were defeated by the Baltimore Ravens 35-34 on Thursday night after quarterback Joe Burrow's pass sailed into the end zone just over the hands of tight end Tanner Hudson, giving the go-ahead for the two-goal with less than a minute left. Point conversion occurred in the fourth quarter.

But to the chagrin of Bengals fans and Amazon Prime commentator Al Michaels, it appeared that NFL officials missed two penalties on the fateful play, one being a defensive hold on tight end Mike Gesicki and the other being a rough beating on the passer against Burrow.

When asked about the lack of wash on the field during the two-point conversion attempt, Burrow took a realistic approach.

“Yeah, most of the time in this situation you don’t get those calls,” Burrow said.

The Bengals QB also appeared to be hit late by the Ravens defense several times throughout the contest. But a resigned Burrow told reporters he doesn't expect officials to give those games the benefit of the doubt, in part because he feels nothing like that ever happened.

“I feel like I never really got those calls, so I don’t really expect that,” Burrow said. “I felt like there was a couple that was close, but I don't expect that either.”

Burrow, the 2021 Comeback Player of the Year award winner and 2022 Pro Bowl selection, clearly feels like he isn't getting the same opportunities as some of the league's other top QBs.

At least on the two-point conversion attempt, Burrow and the Bengals might have some justification. Amazon Prime rules analyst Terry McAulay, an NFL official for 20 years, said he felt the Ravens got away with two penalties on the controversial play.
