The Lincoln teen charged with murdering his father faces amended charges

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln teen accused of stabbing her father two years ago will no longer face a first-degree murder charge.

According to court records, 17-year-old Sallie Gilmer pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, which carries a sentence of 20 years to life.

Back in October 2022, 15-year-old Gilmer was arrested along with her boyfriend Isaac Honigschmidt at the Lodge Apartments near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

According to investigators, the two planned to kill her father, 70-year-old Jessie Gilmer Junior.

Sallie Gilmer will be tried as an adult in the case. Honigschmidt remains imprisoned on charges of aiding and abetting.

Sallie Gilmer's next court date is scheduled for January 30, 2025.
