Grammys 2025: Kim Gordon, Clairo, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and more nominated for Best Alternative Music Awards

The Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards. Notable names in the alternative music categories include Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon and Clairo, both nominated for the first time. All Grammy nominations can be found here.

Gordon, nominated for Bye Bye, will try to beat Cage the Elephant, Fontaines, DC, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and St. Vincent to win the award for best alternative music performance.

Clairo, nominated for charmwill compete in the Best Alternative Music Album category against Gordon, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Brittany Howard and St. Vincent.

The first Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance went to Wet Leg in 2023 for “Chaise Longue.” Earlier this year, Paramore won the category with “This Is Why.”
