Purdue Boilermakers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Prediction, Odds and Tips

The Boilermakers of Purdue hit the road to battle the Buckeyes of Ohio State in Columbus. Purdue put up a good fight in its final game at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday, losing in overtime to Northwestern 26-20. It was its second overtime loss in its last three games, as it also fell 50-49 to Illinois on Oct. 12 as a 22.5-point underdog. Purdue has suffered seven straight losses since beating FCS Indiana State 49-0 in its opener while going 1-6 against the spread (ATS). Purdue faced the Oregon Ducks on October 18th, the team that defeated the Buckeyes on October 12th. The Boilermakers were no match for the Ducks, losing 35-0, but Oregon also had a bit of a hangover after the big win over Ohio State, and yet Purdue still scored.

The Buckeyes are in a similar spot to Oregon. Ohio State is coming off a huge 20-13 win in its No. 3 vs. No. 4 matchup in Happy Valley last week. Now the Buckeyes are playing at home against a miserable opponent, and it wouldn't be shocking if they had a slight hangover. Still, the Boilermakers certainly aren't a threat to win outright, and Purdue will have a hard time scoring at Ohio Stadium unless they're in single digits. The Buckeyes will likely reach the 40 mark, but the Boilermakers did a good job shutting out Oregon and we'll likely see a 41-6 record.
