MATTESON, Ill. (CBS) — A teacher's aide in south suburban Matteson will soon be charged with assault and endangering a child.

Surveillance video at Marya Yates Elementary School in Matteson showed an 8-year-old boy running down a hallway and the 26-year-old woman grabbing him and throwing him to the ground.

Police said the teacher's assistant then dragged the boy 20 feet into a classroom and kicked him through the door.

After school staff spoke with the boy and reviewed security video, the teacher's assistant was arrested by the school resource officer at Yates Elementary School.

Police said the boy reported no injuries.
