Miami DT leaves game against Georgia Tech

Miami defensive lineman Simeon Barrow Jr. left the field early in Saturday's game against Georgia Tech with a leg injury.

With about 12 minutes left in the first quarter, Jamal Haynes took a handoff up the middle, and after the play, Barrow lay on the turf in pain. He was helped to the sideline and was seen with an ice pack on his left knee.

Haynes was also injured in the game. He was later ruled out due to a concussion.

Simeon Barrow injury update

Simeon Barrow Jr. suffered an injury 11:54 minutes into the first quarter, and Miami and Georgia Tech tied 7-7.

Jamal Haynes took a handoff and ran 2 yards before taking a hit to the head while being tackled. Behind the play, Barrow went down and was seen with his knees and head on the ground after the play.

Coaches came and helped him off the field. Barrow was later seen with an ice pack on his left knee. He was later discovered with a brace on his leg.

Redshirt senior CJ Clark would have more time due to Simeon Barrow's injury. Redshirt freshman Josh Horton would be his replacement.

Simeon Barrow stats

Simeon Barrow Jr. transferred from Michigan State before the season. He played four seasons for the Spartans, recording 110 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

He was an integral part of the Hurricanes' defense alongside pass rusher Rueben Bain Jr. Entering Saturday's game, Barrow had 28 tackles (eight for a loss) and 5.5 sacks (first on the team) with a forced fumble. He is fifth on the team in tackles.
