Erin Andrews responds to meteorologist after NFL weather warning drama

Erin Andrews came with receipts.

The Fox Sports network called out Milwaukee-based meteorologist Sam Kuffel of CBS 58, who claimed she made up a weather warning during Sunday's Packers-Lions game in Green Bay.

Andrews reported in the rain from Lambeau Field, where she said on the broadcast that she received an alert warning of wind gusts of up to 43 miles per hour.

“I'm asking Erin Andrews to stop making up weather warnings,” Kuffel said in a since-deleted post on X, adding, “Things like this make me irrationally angry.”

Andrews sent a message to the meteorologist, writing on X on Thursday: “Hey Sam! I just saw the story [about] Your tweet,” Andrews wrote. “Let me know the best way to reach the base. I wanted to show you where Fox Security (who works the game) and I have our weather alert for the Packers game! Thanks!!”

The forecast for Sunday in Green Bay called for rain and winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour, according to The Weather Channel.

“We just received an alert that there is a high wind gust warning coming within the next hour and 45 minutes,” Andrews said during Sunday's Fox Sports broadcast. “Gusts of up to 43 miles per hour are expected. So we got the wind, we got the rain, we got the grass, we got the NFC North, baby. Welcome to Lambeau.”

Fox Sports broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt, who kicked off the game with Tom Brady, wasn't a fan of the weather conditions.

“This is like Erin’s dream,” he said. “Lambeau Field, the weather is miserable, so she’s going to be a weather person.”

Jeremy Nelson, WJCL's chief meteorologist, responded to Kuffel's post on Sunday, saying, “Did she just say the high wind warning?”

Kuffel replied: “Yes. Also for wind speeds of 43 miles per hour?? There have been no speeds here to date exceeding 25-30 mph,” and a weather map was included.

Andrews said the “conditions were crazy” in a postgame interview with Lions quarterback Jared Goff after Detroit’s 24-14 win.

The Wear by EA founder discussed the weather conditions in Lambeau during Thursday's edition of her and Charissa Thompson's “Calm Down” podcast, titled “Erin Takes On The Green Bay Rain.”

“Like rain sideways. I take my first shot… The rain is just coming in at an angle, I have my earbud in, there's water in there… I thought it was so much fun, but we're soaking wet,” Andrews said.

“…Brady is up there and he says, 'Oh my God, you can just feel the wind up here and I say, 'Shhh, enough.' … There were places where it was closest to the end zone and the wind was blowing so hard that I had to put my back to the wind, but I'm watching the play over my shoulder because it's just hitting me in the face. “

Andrews wore a rain jacket and matching pants and a baseball cap on the sidelines Sunday, while others wore ponchos.

As of Friday, it is unclear whether Andrews and Kuffel are connected.
