2 Arizona Lottery players win big jackpots this weekend

PHOENIX – The Arizona Lottery reported two notable wins over the weekend, including one Fantasy 5 jackpot of almost $150,000.

The winning ticket was sold on Saturday at Winners Corner, near Broadway Road and Roosevelt Street, in Tempe.

The winner matched all five numbers – 5, 9, 16, 31 and 34 – and won the $146,000 jackpot.

Fantasy 5 is a nationwide daily drawing game that costs $1 per entry. The chance of winning the jackpot is 1 in about 750,000.

The game's top prize resets to $50,000 once a player hits the jackpot.

What was the Arizona Lottery's other big win this weekend?

Meanwhile, a North Phoenix Powerball ticket netted its buyer a $50,000 prize on Saturday.

The entry from the Sons Food Store near Shea Boulevard and 32nd Street matched four of the five white numbers drawn – 10, 45, 48, 58 and 61 – as well as the red Powerball of 2.

The odds of hitting this combination in Powerball are 1 in over 900,000. The draws take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening. Each entry costs $2.

Powerball is sanctioned in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Saturday's winners will have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
