Myrtle Creek man jailed for reported assault incident – KQEN News Radio

A Myrtle Creek man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon for a reported assault incident.

In a report from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 2 p.m., a friend of a victim called police and said the 66-year-old attacked the victim and then produced a gun, which he pointed at himself and threatened suicide have. This was in the 1100 block of North Old Pacific Highway in the Myrtle Creek area.

When officers arrived, everyone involved had calmed down and there were no firearms present. The victim said the suspect became angry with her and hit her on the side of the neck, causing severe pain as well as redness and swelling.

The man admitted to the attack and was arrested without incident. He was held without bail.
