Rashee Rice's mother charged in virus incident

Marsha Kearneythe mother of the injured Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Ricewas arrested in connection with a viral incident last month, TMZ Sports Reports.

Kearney was charged with mail theft in connection with an incident in which the Ring camera was previously confiscated TMZ Sports showed Kearney stealing a package from her neighbor while wearing a custom-made “Momma Rice” Chiefs jersey with her son's number on Sept. 29, shortly after her son checked in during the Chiefs' road win over the Los Angeles Chargers in He sustained a knee injury in week 4. Kearney then returned to the door, dropped a package on the floor with her foot, mistakenly suspecting it had been moved out of camera frame, and picked it up with her feet before walking away.

The package reportedly included two limited editions Chappell Roan Vinyls purchased from Urban Outfitters and the buyer attempted to work with Kearney, Rice and their apartment complex to get the items back before filing a police report on Oct. 2. The incident was the latest in the tumultuous months for Rice since he won the Super Bowl as a rookie in February.

The 24-year-old was arrested in May for an alleged assault incident in Dallas — despite the victim requesting not to press charges — a month after he was arrested in connection with a six-vehicle crash in the same city. Rice was carted off the field in the first quarter of the Chiefs' Week 4 game after a collision with the quarterback Patrick Mahomes while trying to tackle it Kristian Fulton on an interception return.

Rice recorded 24 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns before his season-ending injury.
