Scheduled lineup: November 9th in Colorado

DENVER The Carolina Hurricanes are winners of eight straight games and are expected to keep the same formula going against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

The Canes arrived in Denver this afternoon after their original plans to fly to Colorado on Friday were thwarted by a snowstorm that hit the Centennial State. Due to the changed travel plans, the team did not host a morning skate and Rod Brind'Amour did not name a starting goalie during his pregame meeting with the media.

When the team goes on the ice to warm up, Pyotr Kochetkov will either make his sixth consecutive start, or Spencer Martin will make his first NHL start of the season.

Before Carolina's fold, Martin Necas will look to extend his career-best points streak to nine games. #88 entered Saturday's game seventh among all NHL skaters with 21 points in 12 games. It is the third-highest point total by a Canes/Whalers player to start a season, behind only Eric Staal (25 in the 2005-2006 season) and John Anderson (22 in the 1985-86 season).

Jack Roslovic will attempt to become the first Hurricane to reach double-digit goals, entering tonight's contest with nine goals and one assist.
