NYT has not yet issued a correction to the erroneous claim that Trump “falsely” accused FEMA of avoiding fans' homes

A New York Times fact-check that claimed Donald Trump lied when he said FEMA intentionally neglected his supporters' storm-ravaged homes has been debunked — but you'd never know it.

The Paper of Record has not yet released a correction, although the Emergency Management Agency revealed last week that Trump was right from the start.

The Oct. 4 Times article titled “Trump's False Claims About Federal Response to Hurricane Helene” has not been edited and remains posted online, although it says the president-elect “falsely accused” the Biden administration of she had “neglected areas that…” had voted Republican.”

The federal disaster relief organization even sided with Trump last week, saying one of its employees, Marn'i Washington, had given workers in Lake Placid, Florida, a disturbing order in a “best practices” memo to “houses that… to avoid promoting Trump.” Staff sourced from Daily Wire.

The 39-year-old Washington is said to have issued the cruel decree verbally to the workers on site.

One of those workers wrote a message in FEMA's tracking system about a home being raided and said, “Trump won't sign off on entry per tour,” according to a screenshot obtained by the news agency.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell called Washington's actions “a clear violation of FEMA's core values and principles of helping people regardless of their political affiliation.”

“This employee has been terminated and we have referred the matter to the Office of Special Counsel,” Criswell added in her statement.

She also promised that she would “do everything we can to make sure something like this never happens again.”

But despite Washington's resignation and the agency chief's admission, the Oct. 4 Times article — written by staff reporter and “fact checker” Linda Qiu — still accuses Trump of lying about the federal government giving preferential treatment to those it doesn't support his campaign.

The House Oversight Committee said it has since launched an investigation to examine the reports more closely and ensure that FEMA remains true to its mission of helping “Americans of all political persuasions.”

In an X post by Fox News contributor Joe Concha, which has been viewed more than 350,000 times, users criticized the Gray Lady for leaving false accusations on her website.

“You mean when they said he was lying, they were actually lying?” asked one incredulous user.

Another person wrote: “The few remaining NYT subscribers should demand a retraction AND an apology.”

A Post message sent to the Times asking whether the article would be corrected or updated was not immediately returned.
