Eagles News: Kellen Moore “might have a few tricks up his sleeve” against the Cowboys.

Let's get to it Philadelphia Eagles Left…

Eagles' Kellen Moore returns to Dallas, still a PowerPoint expert and meticulous offensive whisperer – The Athletic
As Moore returns to Texas for the first time since his departure in 2023, it's worth going back to his roots. The traits that sparked Moore's early success still make him a shrewd coordinator, say those who coached and played with him. Some still believe he will be a head coach one day. They remember a quiet trainer whose mischief manifested itself in trick games, a sophisticated film junkie who still gets others hooked. They acknowledge the high school coach's son's family investment in Eagles players like Saquon Barkley and don't downplay the significance of Moore's plays against his former team. “I'm pretty sure he'll be pretty excited to play against them,” said Skip Peete, who coached running backs under Moore in Dallas. “I guarantee he’ll have a few tricks up his sleeve.”

5 Things to Watch as the Cowboys Host the Eagles on Sunday – Blogging The Boys
1. KELLEN'S REVENGE. In three of his four seasons as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore's team finished in the top six in points, with the lone exception being the 2020 season when they lost Dak Prescott for most of the year. The Cowboys were twice superior and were the absolute best on offense. Love him or hate him, his record in Dallas was pretty impressive. Moore now leads the Eagles' offense and is in the top 10 in net passing and rushing yards per attempt. Moore likes to confuse defenses and is known for using a lot of movement. The Eagle's movement rate is 58.6%, the highest since 2018 (courtesy of NextGenStats). Don't be surprised if the former Cowboys coach has a few wrinkles up his sleeve, because he lets his guys flounder when you expect them to flounder.

The Eagles have passed their half-time test – BGN
The Eagles are 6-2. That's good. #Analysis. But seriously, this is really good. As Bill Parcells said, you are what your record says, and the Eagles record says they are Super Bowl contenders.

Eagles Notebook: “COOOOOOOPPPPPP!!!!” – NBCSP
When Cooper DeJean first heard it, he was pretty confused. He was still a sophomore at Iowa when the fans in Iowa City started a chant that would follow him through the rest of his college career: “COOOOOOOPPPPPP!!!!” “When they first did it in college, I thought “I, they would boo me,” DeJean said this week, “and then I found out.” When he heard the same chant at the Linc on Sunday, he knew immediately what it was. It was a recognition of the loyal Eagles fans who saw the 28-23 victory over the Jaguars. “Yeah, it was cool,” DeJean said. The Eagles fans started chanting his name on his first punt return, but it wasn't very loud. Those chants grew louder with each punt after that and were very loud when he forced a turnover on downs with a pass breakup on 4th-and-1.

NFL Midseason Awards: Picks for MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and more – NFL.com
NAME TO WATCH: Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles' prominent free agent signing was all but advertised as a versatile playmaker out of the backcourt. Barkley's ability to make big plays as a runner and receiver forces opponents to tweak their game plans to account for the dynamic defender's whereabouts at all times. With 1,071 scrimmage yards and eight total touchdowns, the 27-year-old could secure the award with a series of strong performances down the home stretch.

Game Preview: Eagles vs. Cowboys – PE.com
QB Jalen Hurts plays with utmost confidence. He looks so good out there, doesn't he? Hurts is in charge and will have his entire receiving arsenal at his disposal, including tight end Dallas Goedert. Dealing with him, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith is a big task for the Cowboys' defense, and if the Eagles can win on first and second downs and then get Hurts into manageable situations on third down, it could be a very good one matter his night for the offense. If the Eagles let Parsons take charge, it will be very, very difficult for the Eagles against a desperate Dallas team.

NFL fines Jaguars player after hit that Eagles player says could have ended his season – NJ.com
Jaguars safety: Andrew Cisco was fined $11,817 for his hit on Eagles left tackle Fred Johnson. The penalty applies to a player who is infringed for this type of violation for the first time. As quarterback Jalen Hurts ran toward the end zone in the third quarter, Cisco approached as if to tackle Hurts. Instead, Cisco lunged at Johnson's knee, knocking him to the ground as Hurts completed the 18-yard touchdown run. Cisco was charged with unnecessary harshness and the Eagles attempted a two-point conversion but failed. Johnson left the field and was examined by medical staff before returning for the remainder of the game.

Washington Commanders roster moves: Zane Gonzalez called up from practice squad; Austin Seibert OUT – Hogs Haven
The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves as injuries continue to mount. UDFA rookie TE Colson Yankoff was placed on injured reserve. He was ruled out of the game this week due to a hamstring injury. This freed up a spot on the 53-man roster to sign RB Chris Rodriguez from the practice squad. He was promoted last week and had his best game as a professional. This was his third promotion of the season and he had to be signed to be active. Starter Brian Robinson Jr. missed his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Kicker Austin Seibert was questionable with a right hip injury and has now been downgraded to out. Yesterday it was reported that the team would be signing Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad, and the team officially announced it today. They promoted Gonzalez and he will be the team's kicker, but long snapper Tyler Ott was placed on the injury report today due to an illness. Left guard Nick Allegretti is the backup long snapper, which would be an interesting starting choice.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is reportedly facing season-ending surgery – SB Nation
The 2024 NFL season just keeps getting worse for the Dallas Cowboys. Last Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons dropped the Cowboys to 3-5 on the season, leaving Dallas in third place in the NFC East. The Cowboys are facing both the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders in the division and their playoff hopes are fading. The latest news? Dallas may be without starting quarterback Dak Prescott for the remainder of the season.

Evan Neal starts at right tackle against the Panthers – Big Blue View
According to a report from KPRC2's Aaron Wilson, formerly of the Houston Chronicle and Baltimore Sun, the New York Giants will use Evan Neal at right tackle against the Carolina Panthers. Wilson adds that Jermaine Eluemunor will move to left tackle in place of Chris Hubbard. Eleumunor has started at right tackle since joining the Giants but has the versatility to play multiple positions. This will be Neal's first significant action since suffering a severe ankle sprain in 2023 that required surgery to repair. This could also be Neal's last chance to prove he is a long-term answer for the Giants.
