70-year-old man arrested after altercation with city bus driver

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 70-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly got into an altercation with a city bus driver on Sunday, police records show.

According to police records, the driver was helping a passenger in a wheelchair at a bus stop at the Ala Moana Center around 10:30 a.m.

When the suspect got on, she informed him that he was not allowed to sleep on the bus.

He allegedly hit the driver with his elbow, causing her to fall.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with interfering with a public transport operator.
