Detroit Lions vs. Houston Texans live first half chat, open thread

The Detroit Lions and Houston Texans conclude Sunday's Week 10 games with one of the best matchups of the week. The Lions are off to perhaps their best start in franchise history and appear to be as legitimate a Super Bowl contender as anyone in the league. The Texans aren't going through a particularly difficult stretch, but with Nico Collins' return seemingly imminent (but not this week), their offense could get the spark it needs. Meanwhile, their defense has helped them go 6-3 through the first nine weeks of the season.

Injuries on both teams' front lines could be a big issue this week. The Texans have one of the best passing defenses in football, but are without second-year guard Will Anderson Jr. due to an ankle injury. However, the Lions' elite offensive line will be missing its blindside protector. Taylor Decker suffered a shoulder injury in midweek and has already been ruled out.

In other words: The strength of both teams will be tested on Sunday evening. The Lions have survived worse and the Texans have shown that they are a pretty resilient team.
