Micah Parsons feels worse for players like Zack Martin than Mike McCarthy

The Cowboys are sinking. And pass rusher Micah Parsons, who returned after a month out with a sprained ankle, has a queasy feeling.

But Parsons feels worse for certain teammates than he does for head coach Mike McCarthy.

Mike can go and go wherever he wants” Parson told reporters after Sunday's disastrous home loss to the Eagles, via Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports. “People I kind of feel sorry for [are] Guys like Zack Martin and guys who may be in their senior year or about to be. Because I wanted to hold the trophy for him. They want to win games and do great things with such legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did. These are the guys for whom I have so much compassion and great sorrow.”

Parsons' words reflect the realization that it's over for McCarthy and the Cowboys at the end of the season. This is hardly a shock, but it feels like it's a done deal.

Either way, the Cowboys appear to be done. And there are still eight more games to play.
