Former Creek County deputy arrested and charged with possession of child pornography

A former Creek County deputy was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of child pornography, authorities said.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said agents arrested Ryan Matthew Matthias, 48, for having multiple files containing obscene images of children online. The OSBI said it received a cyber tip from Sapulpa police on Sept. 12, 2024, and on Tuesday, along with Sapulpa police and Muscogee Nation Lighthorse police, searched Matthias' home with a search warrant.

According to OSBI, several digital devices have been recovered. He was booked into the Creek County Jail.

According to authorities, he worked as an instructor at the Central Technology Center, a vocational school in Sapulpa.
