Bangor man arrested after failing to stop on I-95 and crashing

OLD TOWN, Maine (WABI) – A Bangor man was arrested Sunday evening after failing to stop and driving erratically in Old Town.

Old Town police said they attempted to make a traffic stop on a box truck crossing the Stillwater Avenue bridge at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

They say the driver, 37-year-old Kyle Albert of Bangor, failed to comply, crashed into the bridge guardrail and continued toward the interstate.

Albert continued to drive erratically before he had an accident at exit 197 and then fled on foot.

With assistance from Orono Police, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office and State Police, officers arrested Albert.

Albert faces several charges including reckless conduct, dangerous driving and possession of a firearm by a felon.
