The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is making a major drug bust

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Investigators with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office received a tip from CrimeStoppers regarding possible drug sales at a property in Sarasota.

Following an investigation, a search warrant was executed for the property on Monday, October 22nd. A search of the apartment resulted in the seizure of:

  • 290 grams of pressed fentanyl tablets
  • 1,698.1 grams of cocaine HCL
  • 2,991.2 grams of MDMA
  • 20.30 pounds of flower cannabis
  • 36,164 US dollars in US currency
  • 15 grams of LSD
  • 22.52 pounds of psilocybin mushroom
  • 443.15 pounds of cannabis edibles
  • A large quantity of unknown pressed tablets requiring further testing

Deputies accused Blaine S. Hudson:

  • Sale of Fentanyl (x2 pieces)
  • Main Reason for Selling Fentanyl (2 Counts)
  • Unlawful use of a two-way communication device
  • Possession of cannabis with intent to distribute
  • Trafficking in fentanyl (over 28 grams)
  • Trafficking in cocaine (over 200 grams)
  • Trafficking in MDMA (over 400 grams)

The deputies accused Johnna M. Morris:

  • Sale of Fentanyl (x2 pieces)

The charge of trafficking fentanyl alone carries a minimum sentence of 25 years if convicted.
