Child pornography found on the phone of a Central Texas man previously arrested on sexual assault charges

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – A Central Texas man previously arrested on sexual assault charges was found to have child pornography on his phone, according to an affidavit.

Ethan Andrew Holloway, 28, is charged with Possession/Promotion of Child Pornography, a third-degree felony.

On September 26, 2023, Detective Fergueson was assigned to a sexual assault case by the Waco Police Department.

At the end of the trial, Holloway was arrested on sexual assault charges, according to an affidavit.

On April 26, 2024, an affidavit said Holloway's ex-partner found some information about the case on his phone and turned the phone over to Mart police.

According to an affidavit, Mart police gave the phone to Detective Fergueson and a search of the phone was conducted.

When authorities searched Holloway's phone, they found at least seven images of child abuse material and one video, according to the affidavit.

Detective Fergueson was able to confirm that the phone did indeed belong to Holloway because the phone documented portions of Holloway's life surrounding the dates the videos and images on the phone were created, according to an affidavit.

Holloway is being held at the McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $75,000.
