Jamestown Police release details of shots fired incident

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Jamestown Police say they are investigating a “shots fired” call early Monday evening, but say there is no danger to the public.

According to police, officers were dispatched to Leapaldt Park in the 1500 block of 9th Avenue NE just before 6 p.m. The victims told them that an intoxicated adult Indian male wearing dark, baggy clothing confronted two adult men and two juveniles. The suspect ordered the four victims to leave the park, then fired at least two shots from a handgun in the general direction of the victims before fleeing the scene.

Officers were unable to find anyone matching the shooter's description, but investigators recovered two 9-millimeter shell casings and a black hoodie from the scene.

No one was injured and the suspect is still at large.
