FHP investigates fatal crash in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Jackson County.

According to police, a blue Suzuki was eastbound on the ramp to US 231 and was approaching the southbound lanes of US 231.

A red Ford pickup was in the southbound lane approaching the driveway.

FHP said the driver of the Suzuki failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic by exiting the driveway and entering the truck's path.

The vehicles then crashed into each other, FHP said.

FHP reports that the passenger in the Suzuki died at the scene.
