  • The Preds took an early lead with a goal from Luke Evangelista. A great play from Mark Del Gaizo converting a penalty was followed by another great play from the youth team to put Nashville on the board.
  • The Avalanche bounced back in full force in the second period, setting up a power play goal from Devon Toews shortly after the teams were even again, and another goal from Mikko Rantanen followed later.
  • Nashville ended the second better than it started, earning another power play and putting pressure on the Avs before they ran out of time.
  • Colton Sissons started the third period by finishing off a play by Roman Josi to tie the game 2-2.
  • Both teams tried to finish the game in regulation, with the Avs applying pressure and Josi making a spectacular solo play, but neither succeeded.
  • In overtime, Brady Skjei lost his footing and the puck, and Samuel Girard took advantage of the mistake by recovering the puck and pushing it past Juuse Saros.
