Firefighters respond to a hazardous materials incident at the Oklahoma Christian University chemistry lab

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to Oklahoma Chrisitan University on Thursday for a hazardous materials incident.

Five people were in the chemistry lab and used cyclohexanone, which is similar to a colored varnish.

The substance is a colorless oil alcohol with a camphor-like smell.

Three of the five people in the lab reported shortness of breath.

They are being treated on site and the fire department does not expect they will need to transport patients.

A dangerous goods team checks whether this is an isolated case.

No evacuations were ordered for anyone else in the other buildings.
