Robert Whittaker | The relentless pursuit of greatness

Typically, fighters start out more defensively and are forced to line up at the back due to Chimaev's forward pressure and the constant threat of a takedown. Whittaker believes the key to not giving in to this pressure is to go hunting yourself. Although Whittaker is the much higher ranked fighter at 185 pounds, he comes into this fight as “the hunter.”

Regardless of where the fight goes or how it ends, Whittaker believes he is better everywhere and that any mistake from Chimaev could be damaging.

As part of the co-main event of UFC 308

“He has 25 minutes not to make a mistake,” Whittaker said. “If he slips up once, he’s gone. We are working towards that. He can play his perfect game and I will still beat him. That's what makes me better. That makes me dangerous.”
