The jury trial begins for a man accused of kidnapping an Akron woman and holding her captive in a garage

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The jury trial of the man accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her captive in an Akron garage for four days is scheduled for Tuesday before Judge Susan Baker Ross of the Summit County Court of Common Pleas start.

William Mozingo Jr. was arrested on October 16, 2023.

Officers responded to a home in the 2800 block of W. Wilbeth Rd. after residents called police.

When officers arrived, they found the 23-year-old Chardon woman and helped her get to safety.

She was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Mozingo, 34, is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
