Ahoskie police arrest two people for murder in October

AHOSKIE, N.C. (WITN) – Nearly two weeks after a man was found dead, Ahoskie police said officers have arrested two people in connection with his death.

According to Ahoskie police, officers began an investigation and found Mark Lane dead on Oct. 30 in the 100 block of Snipes Street.

According to police, officers were able to identify Keyondez Brown and Kayla Boone as suspects thanks to the cooperation of the department's investigative unit, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigation Unit.

According to police, both were arrested on Sunday.

Brown is charged with Lane's murder. Boone is charged with accessory after the fact.

Both are being held without bond in the Hertford County Jail, with their first court appearance scheduled for today.
