A crash involving multiple semi-trucks blocked the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Images from Chopper 3 show several trucks blocking the westbound lanes of the highway near the Bensalem interchange, Exit 351. The highway is closed between I-95 southbound (Exit 40) and Exit 351 until the scene of the accident is cleared.

Traffic was diverted from the highway via a parking lot. Previously, cars could pass the scene of the accident on the right shoulder or an exit.

Stay alert and consider an alternative route if you are traveling this morning.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says motorists should take I-95 south to Exit 35 for Woodhaven Road and then exit to US 1 North/Roosevelt Boulevard toward Morrisville. Motorists can then re-enter the turnpike at the Bensalem interchange after the accident.

Digital signs in the area indicate this detour to drivers.

Emergency crews were on scene cleaning up debris, which also appeared to be some type of spilled material.

Further information about what caused the accident and whether anyone was injured was not immediately available.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
