Burglar wanted for stealing copper wire coils

MILAN, Ill. (KWQC) – A person is being sought by the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office following an attempted copper theft in Milan.

According to Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities, around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 13, a person cut through the fence and drove a black Dodge truck onto the MidAmerican Power Station property.

Crime Stoppers said the burglar attempted to steal a roll of expensive copper wire and when Rock Island County Sheriff's deputies arrived, the burglar fled.

According to Crime Stoppers, the burglar appears to be the same person in several other copper thefts in the Illinois Quad Cities.
