Connecticut man convicted of drug conspiracy in Northeast Kingdom

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Connecticut man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison in connection with running a drug operation in northeastern Vermont.

According to federal authorities, Marvin Byrd of Hartford, Connecticut, was sentenced Friday to 35 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl.

Officials say Byrd – who was known as “TJ” in Vermont – conspired with Britny Parris, 34, of Barton, and others to distribute drugs in and around Orleans County between at least March and August of last year.

Parris was awaiting sentencing.
