MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (WXIX) — A northern Kentucky woman has been charged in connection with the murder and dismemberment of her mother.

Torilena Fields, 32, appeared at her court hearing Tuesday via Zoom.

Her next court date will be in person on March 10 at 9 a.m.

“We look forward to the depth and thoroughness of this investigation,” said Torilena Fields’ attorney Laura Fitzer.

Fields is charged with murder after she was arrested when her mother's dismembered body and apparently cooked body parts were found in a Mount Olivet home.

The 32-year-old was charged Oct. 14 with murder (a capital felony), abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, obstructing government operations and torturing a dog resulting in serious bodily injury or death, according to the Robertson County indictment.

The victim was identified as Trudy Fields, the mother of Torilena Fields, according to family and court documents.

According to her family, Torilena Fields suffered a brain injury in a motorcycle accident and recently moved back to Kentucky after trying to pursue an acting career in California.

According to Kentucky State Police, a bloodied Torilena Fields had to be removed from a Brierly Ridge home on Oct. 9 after she refused to come out.

Earlier that day, around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a call about a deceased woman on Brierly Ridge in Robertson County.

The call came from a man who said he had arrived at the home to work for the property's owner, Trudy Fields, police said.

He told officers that he had been at the property the day before and had seen Trudy Fields and Torilena Fields.

“To [Oct. 8], [the witness] stated that Torilena had cast a spell on her and was confrontational,” officers wrote in their arrest documents.

The man told officers he knocked on the door of the home, but no one answered.

He went looking for the property owner and made the grisly discovery.

After noticing drag marks in the grass, the man followed them and was led to a dismembered body behind the house, the KSP statement said.

According to KSP, all arms, legs and head were removed from Trudy Fields' body.

According to the citation, officers found “multiple body parts and organs” in a folded mattress next to the body.

Cops said they made another grim discovery inside the home.

According to court documents, Trudy Fields' head, hands, feet and forearms were in a pot on the kitchen stove.

According to the documents, Torilena Fields heated the body parts in the oven “until they were charred.”

On the same day that Torilena Fields is accused of murdering and dismembering the victim, court records say she “intentionally tortured and killed a pet dog.”
