Multiple agencies called for help after two commercial vehicles crashed in Rankin Co.

LEESBURG, Miss. (WLBT) – Multiple agencies were called to assist after two commercial vehicles crashed in Rankin County.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on MS Hwy 481 near Wilson Bates Road in Leesburg.

According to the Rankin County Sheriff's Department, one of the vehicles involved was loaded with butane and the other was loaded with corn.

The driver, who was transporting corn, was trapped but has since been freed. He was taken to UMMC by AirCare.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Rankin County Sheriff's Department have redirected traffic from the area until the scene is cleared and the road is safe for the public.

Several different fire and rescue services were called to assist with the cleanup and assistance to the victims.
