Tottenham vs AZ Alkmaar result

SPURS STAY PERFECT THANKS TO RICHARLISON PENALTY

Tottenham secured a hard-fought UEFA Europa League victory over AZ Alkmaar thanks to a Richarlison penalty, while Mikey Moore lit up north London with a stunning second-half performance.

Moore switched wings at half-time as Timo Werner was withdrawn and the 17-year-old tormented the AZ defense, although it was a foul on Lucas Bergvall that scored the game-winning penalty.

Richarlison argued with James Maddison over who would take the penalty but he exuded confidence as he sent the penalty straight down the middle as Tottenham enjoyed a purple patch in the third quarter.

Both teams deserved more goals, but Ange Postecoglou's side controlled the final stages of the game and continued their perfect start to the competition. The win leaves Tottenham in second place in the league phase and level on points with Lazio after three games.
