The Secret Service helps arrest a Charlotte man accused of murder

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A man was arrested Tuesday, more than a month after a shooting that left one person dead in southwest Charlotte.

Curtis Gregory Lampkin, 24, was found shot to death Oct. 7 in the 400 block of Peachtree Drive, near Interstate 77. Lampkin died from his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced Nov. 12 that they arrested 41-year-old Shamario Tyeast Bethea.

The Hickory Police Department and the United States Secret Service assisted in Bethea's arrest.

After an interview with police, he was charged with murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
