Arrested as part of Price County death investigation

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAW) – An arrest has been made in connection with a death investigation in Price County.

On November 3, a body was found in a rural location in the town of Hackett.

In a news release, Marshfield police identified the victim as 28-year-old Blanca Jesenia Hernandez Portocarrero of Marshfield. The investigation revealed that Hernandez Portocarrero was killed in the town of Marshfield. Her death is being investigated as a domestic violence incident.

According to a release from the Price County Sheriff's Office, 38-year-old Deyvin Castro Gutierrez was arrested in connection with her death. He is being held on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide, according to the news release.

The Price County Sheriff's Office and Marshfield Police Department were assisted by the FBI, Wisconsin Department of Justice and Division of Criminal Investigation, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory, Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, Sheriff's Office assisted by Clark County and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Rusk County Sheriff's Office, Taylor County Sheriff's Office, Vilas County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, Wood County Sheriff's Office, Park Falls Police Department, Phillips Police Department, Rhinelander Police Department K9 Unit, Prentice Fire Department, Price County Coroner's Office, Wisconsin State Wide Intelligence Center, Wisconsin Department of Justice-Crime Response Specialists, Wood County District Attorney's Office and Price County District Attorney's Office.
