Matchup to watch | Bo Nickal vs. Paul Craig

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt enters the match having earned 13 of his 17 victories by submission, including eight by triangle choke. But he also showed success on his feet and secured four victories by knockout. If Craig emerges victorious, it will most likely be before the final horn sounds, as all of his victories have come at the finish, 11 of them in the first round.

Meeting in the middle

Fight fans will get their money's worth with this matchup, the scorecards most likely won't be needed. In just three UFC fights, Nickal has had an average fight time of 4:03, not even a full round of action in the Octagon. On the other hand, Craig averages 7:57. Both men are below the UFC average, which is 9:41.

Looking at the story on the tape, you can see that they are a pretty even match, both having a reach of 76 inches, while Craig is two inches taller than Nickal. The biggest difference between them is their age – eight years between these middleweights – and also their vast fighting experience.

It will be interesting to see how the fight develops when it inevitably goes to the ground, or if the game plans on both sides are adjusted to allow things to develop on the feet. Once again, Nickal is a big betting favorite on the card at -1000, but don't count Craig's base game into that. Regardless, whoever achieves victory will have a big win added to their resume.
