NASCAR penalizes Anthony Alfredo for incident at Xfinity race in Phoenix

NASCAR on Tuesday fined Anthony Alfredo $25,000 and imposed a 25-point penalty for intentionally destroying Stefan Parsons in last weekend's Xfinity Championship race at Phoenix Raceway.

Alfredo still finished the season 15th in points.

Parsons and Alfredo came into contact in Turn 4 on lap 63. This contact caused Alfredo to crash into the wall. Alfredo then hooked Parsons, sending Parsons into the wall and out of bounds.

Riley Herbst won the race. Justin Allgaier won the championship.

Justin Allgaier captured his first NASCAR Xfinity Series title in his seventh appearance in the title race.
