Lee Co. man accused of distributing child pornography

LEE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – A 41-year-old Village of Harmon man is arrested and charged with allegedly uploading child pornography.

John D. Mowery is charged with five counts of distribution of child pornography.

On Aug. 8, Dixon police said they received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography was being uploaded.

Investigators investigated the tip and determined that the uploaded child pornography reportedly came from a home in the 900 block of Harmon Road. in harmony. On Nov. 12, Dixon police, Lee County officers and Illinois State Police officers searched the home where they arrested Mowery.

Mowery was taken to the Lee County Jail and is awaiting a hearing.
