NEWS & NOTES
• Saint Joseph's opens Big 5 play on Tuesday when the Hawks host Villanova in a match televised by CBS Sports Network at Hagan Arena.

• The Hawks enter Tuesday's Big 5 campaign with a record of 135-120 and have won 21 titles, including last year's inaugural Big 5 Classic title.

• Overall, the Wildcats lead the series 55-26, but the Hawks are coming off a 78-65 win at #18/15 Villanova a season ago.

• Tuesday marked just the 15th time Saint Joseph's hosted Villanova at Hawk Hill.

• The Hawks are 2-12 and 1-5 in their last 14 meetings against the Wildcats at Hagan Arena.

• St. Joe's last win over Villanova at Hawk Hill came on Dec. 17, 2011, when Langston Galloway scored 20 points in a 74-58 victory.

• Saint Joseph’s head coach Billy Long previously coached twice at Villanova under Jay Wright; Lange was an assistant coach from 2001 to 2004 and deputy head coach from 2011 to 2013.

• Saint Joseph's looks to bounce back from Friday's 73-67 loss to Central Connecticut.

Rasheer Fleming posted a game-high 19 points and career-high 16 rebounds in his first double-double of the season against the Blue Devils.

Xzayvier Brown finished Friday with 16 points, five boards and five assists.

• Through the first two games, Brown averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Derek Simpson was the third Hawk to score in double figures against Central Connecticut, as the junior scored 10 points to go with three assists and two steals.

• St. Joe's returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, from last year's team that went 21-14 overall, won its first Big 5 Classic title and secured an NIT bid.

• Despite returning seven letterwinners, the Hawks have one of the youngest rosters in the country with just one senior (Eric Reynolds II) and a doctoral student (Justice Ajogbor), and the other 85.7 percent consist of freshmen (six), sophomores (four) and juniors (two).
