JCPS approves start times for the 2025-26 school year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Jefferson County Public School Board approved start times for the 2025-26 school year Tuesday night.

JCPS will maintain the same staggered start times implemented for the 2024-25 school year. The start times remain 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m

Only one board member voted against maintaining the plans.

JCPS had implemented the new start times and stopped transportation to some schools to allow students to get to class on time.

The school board also approved the 2025-26 calendar, with the first day for students being August 7.
