INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – We'll start off dry this morning, but we'll see rain later this afternoon. It may rain moderately to heavily at times during the evening commute.

TODAY: It's cool outside this morning with temperatures around 30 degrees and sunny skies. Clouds will increase throughout the day today ahead of our next storm system. We will see a lot of clouds at lunchtime and rain in the late afternoon. Large parts of the state may experience moderate to heavy rain at times. Storms and thunderstorms are not expected. High temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 50s to lower 60s across southern Indiana.

TONIGHT: Rain will continue into the evening hours and may be heavy at times. Lows will only fall into the upper 40s. Some locations may receive up to an inch of rainfall. Some areas south of Indianapolis could see 1 to 2 inches of rain.

THURSDAY: Your Thursday will have mostly cloudy skies. A few isolated morning showers are possible. In the first half of the day there will be occasional drizzle and light rain. High temperatures will climb into the mid 50s.

7-DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: Partly cloudy skies Friday with dry conditions. Temperatures will climb into the upper 50s. It looks like Friday night's high school football games will be canceled. Heading into the weekend it looks like we will be expecting dry conditions with some sunshine on both Saturday and Sunday. It will be slightly warmer with highs in the mid 50s Saturday and lower 60s Sunday.

Rain chances return Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the 50s.

There are some signs in next week's extended forecast that we may see some incredibly cool air. So the cold temperatures could prevail just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
