Suspect pleads not guilty in death of woman found in freezer

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The suspect accused of killing a Las Vegas woman and hiding her body in a freezer pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning.

The suspect, Daniel Roush, who also goes by “Jazlynn,” is accused of open murder and drug offenses.

According to police, Roush met the victim, Monique Gilbertson, at Home Depot and was offered a place to stay. An investigation revealed that Gilbertson had overdosed on drugs containing fentanyl, which Roush allegedly purchased and gave to her, according to an arrest report.

During an interview with detectives, Roush claims that they found Gilbertson already dead and put her in the freezer because they “didn't know what to do.”

Roush is due back in court on Thursday, November 28th.
