“In this first year, of course, we have to deal with life somehow. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have children and grandchildren and Maryland. “I’m not leaving Maryland, but he has commitments in Kansas,” Joan says Us. “We know we're going to spend time in Maryland and Kansas, but then we come up with this really fun plan because we've both always dreamed – and we're finally in this weird phase of our lives where we're making that dream come true want – that we live in a big city and in particular have always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, 'I want us to find a place.'”

Disney/Ricky Middlesworth Golden Bachelorette season 1 contestant Chock Chapple captured viewers' hearts from the moment he stepped out of the limo. “At 60, I could do so much. “I was loved, I traveled, I had kids, I had success in business and other things,” Chock said during the premiere in September […]

The two agree that this is the perfect adventure for their first year as a couple.

“We both love the energy in the city and love that there is always something to do,” Joan continued. “We just want to go out and walk and experience life – go to great restaurants and [experience the] Culture. We both have friends there. We will be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a completely different life than we’ve ever lived.”

Joan added that Chock's two children – Taylor25, and Tyler23, which he shares with his ex-wife, Heather – also live on the East Coast.

“That might make the decision a little easier. And I don't think I ever thought I would say this, but I'm looking forward to spending time in Kansas [too]!” she explained. “He has a great life and great friends there, and I really want to go and just hang out with them. He's out pretty much every night of the week and I can hear the hustle and bustle in the background of all his friends having a good time. That’s why I’m excited to go to Kansas.”

Chock noted that he would “never” ask Joan to move too far away from her family in Maryland. She has four children – Nick34, Erica33, Allison30, and Luke28 – which she shared with her late husband John and three grandchildren.

“We will do it. We are willing to spend time in each individual's hometown. We’ll be spending a lot of time in New York City,” he said. “We will move on with our lives.”

Stay tuned Us weekly for much more from Joan and Chock.
