Lakers provide major update on Anthony Davis' eye injury

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Toronto Raptors on Sunday by a score of 123-103 to pick up their sixth win of the season. Toronto led the first half of the contest before Los Angeles took control in the third quarter.

But during the game, Lakers star Anthony Davis suffered a blow to the face. After attempting to block a dunk by Raptors center Jakob Poeltl, he was poked in the eye.

The star-sized man fell to the ground and lay there in pain for a minute. Eventually he left the field and went to the locker room.

Davis has struggled with eye problems in the past and suffered a corneal abrasion in the same eye in March. After the game, ESPN NBA Insider Dave McMenamin gave an updated report on the big man.

“Sources told ESPN's Dave McMenamin that Davis suffered swelling from the contact that made it difficult to keep his left eye open. “Davis will have the eye examined by an ophthalmologist on Monday as a “precautionary measure,” sources said.”
