Watch: Klay Thompson scores first points with the Mavericks

After the Golden State Warriors' victory in the first game of the 2024-24 season on Wednesday, Thursday marked Klay Thompson's first game as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. At the season opening. The former long-time Golden State legend faced Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in Dallas on Thursday evening.

Thompson wasted no time getting started with his new team. With the number 31, Thompson secured his first official points as a Maverick. Thompson caught the ball on the wing and hit a pump fake to get his former teammate Chris Paul to fly past before stepping inside the arc and executing a mid-range jump shot.
