Both drivers are killed in a fatal crash in Warren County on Thursday morning

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), and the 31st District Attorney's Office are currently investigating an incident that occurred Thursday morning in Warren County and resulted in two deaths, including a beloved community member.

A car accident in Warren County on Thursday morning is believed to be related to “criminal conduct,” according to the district attorney's latest news release. The man drove his F-250 truck into a 61-year-old woman's Suburban SUV on I-70 after crossing into her lane going the opposite direction. Both died from their injuries.

The deceased suspect, Brandon James, 24, was allegedly connected to numerous other incidents of violent crime in Rutherford and Warren counties.

Further details regarding this fatal accident are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

The woman, Phyllis Prater, will be fondly remembered by the community, District Attorney Chris Stanford said in a recent news release. “Mrs. Prater and her husband, Gary Prater, have long served our community through their public service, generosity and philanthropic work. Ms. Prater will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.”
