NCT's Jaehyun Unveils Lighthearted Music Video 'Unconditional'

NCT singer Jaehyun has released a music video for his new single “Unconditional”.

In the new music video “Unconditional,” Jaehyun sings about a lover lounging outside while a group of friends chase each other around a heart-shaped piñata. They later cheer on the singer as he beats him up with a baseball bat.

I just bought my baby Prada / Got another one for her right at the store / Fly her around the world so she can hang on the beach / This is my baby, this is my sugar / I don't need unconditional honey by the way – nal,“ he sings in the chorus.

“Unconditional” arrives just two months after the K-pop star made his official solo debut with his album “J,” led by the single “Smoke.” As a pre-release project, Jaehyun also released music videos for the B-side tracks “Dandelion” and “Roses”.

In a four-star review of the record: NME's Tamar Herman wrote that it “makes quite a stylistic statement by dedicating itself to slow jams and sensual love songs.”

The new single is also his last release before his military service. His agency SM Entertainment announced last month that the singer had been accepted into the army's military band and that he would join on November 4. This would make him the second NCT member to enlist after rapper Taeyong was enlisted in the Navy back in April.

In other NCT news, SM Entertainment officially terminated its contract with former member Taeil last week due to his involvement in an ongoing sexual assault investigation. The label announced his departure from the boy band in August after learning he was under investigation.
