New leaks from the Man United dressing room suggest all is not well at West Ham

West Ham face Man United in a thrilling Premier League clash this Sunday, but the visitors have been helped.

The Hammers and the Red Devils face each other in the so-called “El Sackico” of the Premier League.

The pressure is increasing on West Ham coach Julen Lopetegui and his Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag.

Especially after Man United failed to win in three Europa League games last night, leaving them 21st in the 36-team table.

If you ever need proof that all is not well at a football club, just look at the leaks that come out.

The sanctity of the locker room and training ground should be sacred.

Man United have been as opaque as it gets when it comes to news from the club.

For the most part there was none of that at West Ham under David Moyes.

Moyes was extremely protective of team news, even in press conferences.

New West Ham dressing room leaks for Man United

There has rarely been a scandal arising from leaks within the club or anything that could benefit the opposition in any way.

Last week was a new low for the Hammers in recent times.

West Ham come into the game after a terrible 4-1 defeat at Spurs against Man United.

The team's best player, Mohammed Kudus, suffered a complete header loss as he was sent off.

His actions, which resulted in him missing the game against Manchester United and probably the next five games after that, were seen as a public display of frustration with the manager.

Kudus and Lopetegui clashed in the Brentford dressing room at half-time.

That was the first sign that something was wrong at West Ham.

Because news of the altercation and the details of it leaked out almost immediately.

Unprecedented leaks suggest all is not well at West Ham

A top club insider suggested this week that technical director Tim Steidten was behind a leak to a German journalist that his compatriot Edin Terzic had been put on standby to replace Lopetegui.

Now leaked team news about a Man United trio suggests all is not well at West Ham.

You have to think way back in time to remember the last time news broke from West Ham's training ground in the lead-up to a game.

But that's exactly what happened this week.

Give Me Sport has claimed its sources at the club have revealed that Edson Alvarez is set to be recalled to West Ham's starting XI against Man United.

The report states: “Lopetegui is losing trust in certain players.”

It is claimed that Tomas Soucek or Guido Rodriguez will make way.

The report also states that the manager was not impressed with the form of number one goalkeepers Alphonse Areola or Lucas Paqueta.

And it is claimed that both could be eliminated when Manchester United visit the London Stadium.

This is truly unprecedented at West Ham in recent years.

Once leaks occur, they can be difficult to stop

It doesn't just give Man United a head start when it comes to knowing who they'll be up against.

But this locker room screams trouble.

Alex Crook claimed this week that there was unrest in the Hammers boardroom and dressing room over the manager.

Maybe he's right. Because obviously someone is leaking news to reporters and ultimately that only hurts West Ham.

For some fans, the meaning of this statement may not be apparent.

But once the leaks appear in a club, it becomes difficult to plug them.

It's the sort of problem that was common at bad old West Ham before the club sorted itself out after lockdown.

No wonder the Hammers are once again being described as the Premier League circus.
