New images of Arsenal's 2024/25 away kit were leaked earlier this week, along with the story behind the kit's design.

Earlier this week, Footy Headlines released new images of the 2024/25 away kit, as seen above.

The shirt features a black base with red and green accents and a black and white patterned stripe on the sleeves and sides.

The same source also revealed the explanation for the shirt's design, reporting that it is a tribute to former Arsenal players David Rocastle and Ian Wright.

The article points out that the black, red and green color scheme was previously used in a limited-edition sneaker called the Honor Oak, in reference to the part of London where both players grew up.

It appears the design has now moved onto a t-shirt and the jersey is due to be released in July 2024.

As previously reported, all Arsenal kits for 2024/25 will feature the cannon logo instead of the usual club crest.

Arsenal have reportedly decided to celebrate the cannon next season, even if the crest won't disappear forever.

James McNicholas reported for The Athletic that changing the club's crest to the cannon would not be an easy process, would require consultation with fans and would be expensive.

Most importantly, there is no indication that Arsenal want to change that.

This isn't the first time Arsenal have used a cannon as a badge. This season, the green third kit uses a cannon logo, as do the black away kit in 2022/23 and the yellow away kit in 2021/22.
