October is coming to an end and New York City is gearing up for its highly anticipated Halloween parade. The annual event is full of fun and features people in creative costumes taking to the streets. As the Halloween season begins, a video from last year's parade has reignited the festive enthusiasm among netizens.

In the clip, several thousand costumed merrymakers can be seen performing a choreographed dance to pulsating music. The video was originally posted on Instagram last year. What made last year's event even more special was the fact that it was the parade's golden anniversary celebration.

The event, themed “Upside/Down: Inside/OUT,” took place in Lower Manhattan on October 31 from 7 to 11 p.m. It included a colorful parade down Sixth Avenue, starting from Canal Street to West 15th Street.

The video, which showed a large group dancing to Michael Jackson's “Thriller,” was viewed 11 million times on Instagram.

One user commented: “I really want to do this! On my bucket list. Maybe next year!”

Another user chimed in, adding: “I have to stop for this. I know the routine.”

A third user explained: “I always enjoy going to the Halloween parade in NYC. It’s the best!”

“Where do I log in?” asked one user.

“One of my absolute favorite moments in NYC,” reads one comment.

If you thought last year was epic, 2024 is only going to get bigger, bolder and bolder – yes, bolder. This year's theme is “Meow!”, so everyone is welcome to let the cat out of the bag – be it a stylish cat or a wild tiger. Taking place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The parade begins along Sixth Avenue, from Canal Street to 15th Street.

Acclaimed Broadway star André De Shields, known for his roles in Hadestown and Cats, will be this year's Grand Marshal.

For those looking to tune in, the optimal locations are between Bleecker Street and 14th Street; This means that people should arrive as early as possible to get good positions. Can't do it in person? Catch the live broadcast on NY1 from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
